11 November recordings

Title: You Won't See Me Rubber Soul
Credits: John Lennon - Paul McCartney
Recorded: EMI Studios, London, 11 November, 1965
Producer: George Martin
Engineer: Norman Smith
Location: Rubber Soul - track 3

Written by Paul and recorded during what simply had to be the final session for the album - due for release in just three weeks later leaving precious little time for remixing, disc cutting, pressing, sleeve artwork, printing, promotion and distribution.

This song was recorded in two takes, the second being used for release. Both the mono and stereo mixes were prepared November 15. The instrumental "backing track" for this song has been bootlegged and can be found on "The Beatles: The Ultimate Collection Volume 1" (CD).

A different mix of this track with centred vocals was released on the double-album "Love Songs." This set was released in the US on October 21, 1977 and in the UK on November 11, 1977.

On April 30, 1987 the album "Rubber Soul" was released in both the US and the UK on the CD format. George Martin remixed the album in stereo for this release.

Titles: Girl Rubber Soul
Credits: John Lennon - Paul McCartney
Recorded: EMI Studios, London, 11 November, 1965
Producer: George Martin
Engineer: Norman Smith
Location: Rubber Soul - track 9

Another song written at the last minute and recorded in the marathon final session which began on the 11th and finished at breakfast on the 12th. Again proving that the Beatles worked well under pressure of deadlines, Girl remains one of the group's, and John Lennon's, most durable songs - albeit a slightly naughty one.
