The Beatles recorded 'I've Just Seen A Face' on June 14, 1965 for release on the "Help!" LP. The song was completed in six takes, with overdubs. Both the mono and stereo mixes were completed from take 7 on June 18. This track can be found in reprocessed stereo on the US LP "Rubber Soul."

On April 30, 1987 the album "Rubber Soul" was released in both the US and the UK on the CD format. George Martin remixed the album in stereo for this release.

Paul McCartney and Wings performed this song during their 1975 world tour. An unidentified performance of this song from that tour has been bootlegged and can be found on "Four Sides Of The Circle." Another performance, taken from the November 13, 1975 performance at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne has also been bootlegged and can be found on "Paul McCartney And Wings Fly South."

Wings also performed this song at several concerts during their 1976 World Tour including Falkoner Theatre, Copenhagen (March 21), Fort Worth, Texas (May 3), Largo, Maryland (May 15) and Los Angeles (June 21). All of these performances have been bootlegged. Another live version of this song was recorded during the 1976 World Tour and released on the triple album "Wings Over America." This album was released in both the US and the UK on December 10, 1976.

Paul taped an appearance on MTV's "Unplugged" television show on January 25, 1991. The appearance aired in the US on April 3, 1991. This performance was released in the UK on May 20, 1991 and in the US on June 4, 1991 on the album "Unplugged (The Official Bootleg)."

This song was also performed at Paul's "secret gigs" on May 10, 1991 at London's Mean Fiddler Club and on July 19, 1991 at Cliff's Pavilion, Westcliff on Sea. Both of these performances have been bootlegged.
