Lead vocal shared by John and Paul. The recording of this song and the two that followed were commenced in the same order on 29 September. Ringo pounds a timpani on this song for the first time.

The Beatles recorded 'Every Little Thing' in four takes on this date (1 - 4). On September 30, they recorded five more takes (5 - 9) with take nine being used for release. Both the mono and stereo mixes were prepared October 27. The album "Beatles For Sale" was released on December 4, 1964. On February 26, 1987 the album, "Beatles For Sale" was released in both the US and the UK on the CD format. Originally, a new stereo mix was prepared for this release; however, George Martin later remixed the album in mono. The new mono mix is found on the CD release of the album "Beatles For Sale."

On January 3, 1969, during rehearsals for the aborted "Get Back" film/album project George Harrison and Paul McCartney played a short bit of this song (3.79). This performance has been bootlegged.
