The Beatles recorded themselves rehearsing 'I Saw Her Standing There' at the Cavern Club during the fall of 1962. This recording has been bootlegged.

A live recording of this song from the Star Club in Hamburg, Germany, was made December 31, 1962 while The Beatles were performing their stage act. This recording has been bootlegged. This recording may be the same as those found on the numerous legitimate Star Club releases, prior to editing and remixing, however, when the track listing of the original tape was first published in "Melody Maker" in July 1973, only one version of this song was listed. A live recording of this song from the Star Club in Hamburg, Germany, made on December 31, 1962 was released April 8, 1977 in Germany, May 25, 1977 in the UK on the album "The Beatles Live! At The Star Club In Hamburg, Germany; 1962."

The Beatles recorded 'I Saw Her Standing There' on February 11, 1963 for release on their "Please Please Me" LP. The song was recorded in 12 takes under the working title 'Seventeen'. The released version was an edit of takes 9 and 1. The editing, and mono and stereo mixing were all completed on February 25.

The original Vee Jay LP "Introducing The Beatles" did not contain the "one, two, three" from the four beat count-in. This track was reprocessed for the US stereo LP "Meet The Beatles," released on January 20, 1964.

In the spring of 1976 George Martin remixed a stereo version of 'I Saw Her Standing There' in Los Angeles for the LP "Rock 'N' Roll Music." This album was released in the US on June 7, 1976 and in the UK on June 11, 1976. The original UK release of this LP consisted of direct transfers of the early master tapes, until October 1980, when the double-LP was issued as two single budget label LP's. At that time the new George Martin remixes were used.

On February 26, 1987 the album "Please Please Me" was released in both the US and the UK on the CD format. Originally, a new stereo mix was prepared for this release; however, George Martin later remixed the album in mono. The new mono mix is found on the CD release of the album "Please Please Me."

Takes 1 - 12 from the February 11 recording session have found their way onto various bootlegs. Take 9 was released in both the US and the UK December 12, 1995 as a bonus track on the 'Free As A Bird' CD single.

The Beatles also performed 'I Saw Her Standing There' for various BBC Radio programs during 1963, including March 16 for "Saturday Club" (live), May 21 for "Saturday Club" (aired May 25), May 21 for "Steppin' Out" (aired June 3), June 17 for "Pop Go The Beatles" (aired June 25), July 17 for "Easy Beat" (aired July 21), September 3 for "Pop Go The Beatles" (aired September 24), September 7 for "Saturday Club" (aired October 5), and December 18 for "From Us To You" (aired December 26). All of these performances have been bootlegged.

The Beatles' October 16, 1963 recording of this song for the "Easy Beat" radio program episode which aired October 20 was released in both the US and the UK on December 6, 1994 on "The Beatles Live At The BBC."

The Beatles performed live shows on October 24, 1963 at the Stockholm Karlaplan Studio (aired November 11 on Swedish radio as "The Beatles: Pop Group From Liverpool Visiting Stockholm") and the Empire Theatre in Liverpool on December 7 (aired on BBC TV as "It's The Beatles"). The Beatles also recorded an appearance on the Swedish television show "Drop-In" on October 20, which aired November 3. The October 24 performance was recorded and released in both the US and the UK on December 6, 1994 on "The Beatles Live At The BBC." The remaining performances have been bootlegged.

During 1964 the Beatles recorded 'I Saw Her standing There' on May 1 for their third "From Us To You" BBC Radio holiday special (aired May 18). This recording is available on several different bootlegs.

The Beatles appeared live on "The Ed Sullivan Show" on February 9, 1964. On February 16, they held an afternoon dress rehearsal and a live performance in the evening, again for "The Ed Sullivan Show." 'I Saw Her Standing There' was performed at all three of these appearances, all of which have been bootlegged.

The Beatles performed their first US concert on February 11, 1964 in Washington, DC. Live concerts were also performed at K. B. Hallen in Denmark with Jimmy Nicol (June 4), Adelaide (June 12) and Melbourne - two - (June 17). The Beatles sang 'I Saw Her Standing There' at each of these concerts, all of which are available on several different bootlegs.

On November 24, 1974, John Lennon and Elton John rehearsed some of the songs they would perform at Elton's November 28 Thanksgiving Day concert at Madison Square Garden, including 'I Saw Her Standing There'. This rehearsal performance has been bootlegged and can be found on "The Toy Boy." John and Elton did perform this song at the latter's November 28 Thanksgiving Concert. The performance was recorded and released as the B-side to Elton's 'Philadelphia Freedom' single which was released in the US on February 24, 1975 and in the UK on February 28, 1975.

Paul McCartney appeared at the Prince's Trust 10th Anniversary Birthday Party Concert at Wembley Arena on June 20, 1986. During this appearance he performed this song which was released on the album "The Prince's Trust 10th Anniversary Birthday Party" on April 24, 1987 in the UK.

Paul re-recorded this song between July 20 - 21, 1987 during sessions for his album "CHOBA B CCCP." This track has not been released and no copies have surfaced.

Paul also performed this song during a live appearance on BBC-TV's "The Last Resort With Jonathan Ross" on November 27, 1987. This performance has been bootlegged and can be found on "It's Now Or Never" (CD) and "All The Rest" (CD).

George Harrison and Ringo Starr joined in on the informal jam following the January 20, 1988 "Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame" induction ceremony. A tape of this performance including this song has circulated but no other copies have surfaced.

Paul performed this song at several concerts during his 1989 - 1990 world tour including Stockholm's Johanneshovs Isstadion (September 30), Milan (October 26), Rotterdam (November 8), Los Angeles (November 23 and 27), New York (December 15), Berkeley (March 31 and April 1), Glasgow (June 23) and Washington, DC (July 4). All of these performances have been bootlegged.

Paul McCartney performed this song during his 1989 -1990 world tour. A performance of this song was released on his album "Tripping The Live Fantastic" in both the US and the UK on November 5, 1990.

This song was also performed at Paul's "secret gigs" on May 10, 1991 at London's Mean Fiddler Club and on July 19, 1991 at Cliff's Pavilion, Westcliff on Sea. Both of these performances have been bootlegged.

Paul McCartney performed this song at several concerts during his 1993 New World Tour including Milan (February 19), Frankfurt (February 23), Melbourne (March 9), Sydney (March 16), Las Vegas (April 14), Anaheim (April 17), Charlotte, North Carolina (June 15), Paris (October 13), Tokyo (November 12) and Mexico City (November 27). All of these performances have been bootlegged.
