Typical Beatles fare of 1963, written by John, with his harmonica to the fore.

As the lyrics to "Little Child' are about a 'sad and lonely' boy wanting a girl to take a cahnce with him, the initial idea probably came from John. Asked about 'Little Child' in 1980, all John would say was that it was another effort to write a song for somebody, "probably Ringo".

The Beatles were now entering a period where they were being asked to provide songs for other artists. In April 1963, john had gone on holiday to Spain with Brian Epstein who used the opportunity to try to persuade him to write original ,aterial for the other acts he managed. The Beatles duly complied, writing "I'll be On My Way' and 'Bad To Me' for Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas, 'Tip Of My Tongue' for Tommy Quickly, "Love Of The Loved' for Cilla Black, and 'Hello Little Girl' for the Fourmost.

Paul has since admitted they "knocked them out" in the belief that it was the job of a songwriting team to keep writing songs, reserving the best ones for themselves and giving the rest away.
