The Beatles, with Pete Best on drums, recorded 'Crying, Waiting, Hoping' at their London audition for Decca Records on January 1, 1962. Any "authorized" releases of this track seem to have a hazy legality and are difficult to find. For this reason, these releases are listed as bootlegs.
The Beatles did record this song again on July 16, 1963 for the BBC Radio series "Pop Go The Beatles" episode which aired August 6. This recording was released in both the US and the UK on December 6, 1994 on "The Beatles Live At The BBC."
On January 29, 1969, during rehearsals for the aborted "Get Back" film/album project, The Beatles performed and recorded this song with George Harrison on lead vocals.
