An interesting John Lennon song, typical of the value and originality the Beatles injected into their B-sides, this being the reverse side of She Loves You, recorded at the same 1 July 1963 session. No true stereo mix was made.
The Beatles recorded 'I'll Get You' under the working title 'Get You In The End'. Precise details of the recording takes no longer exist. The mono mix was prepared July 4. No stereo mix was ever prepared. When this song was released on the US LP "The Beatles' Second Album" this track was reprocessed for the stereo release.
The Beatles also recorded this song for various BBC Radio programs during 1963 including July 16 for "Pop Go The Beatles" (aired August 13), July 30 for "Saturday Club" (aired August 24), September 3 for "Pop Go The Beatles" (aired September 10), and September 7 for "Saturday Club" (aired October 5). All of these recordings are available on various bootlegs.
This song was also performed live on October 13, 1963 when The Beatles appeared on "Val Parnell's Sunday Night At The London Palladium." This performance was recorded and released in both the US and the UK on November 21, 1995 on "The Beatles Anthology Volume 1."
Paul McCartney performed an extremely brief bit of this song on January 23, 1969 during rehearsals for the aborted "Get Back" film/album project. This performance (23.28) has been bootlegged.
