The Beatles recorded 'Baby, It's You' in three takes on February 11, 1963 for release on their "Please Please Me" LP. Takes 1 and 3 were complete; take 2 was a false start. George Martin made some overdubs on February 20, 1963, superimposing celeste on to take three. This take (take 5) was used for release. Both the stereo and mono mixes were completed on February 25.
The simulated mono version was released on the US LP "The Early Beatles" on March 22, 1965 and contains the stereo mix with the separate tracks combined into one.
On February 26, 1987 the album "Please Please Me" was released in both the US and the UK on the CD format. Originally, a new stereo mix was prepared for this release; however, George Martin later remixed the album in mono. It is the new mono mix, which is found on the CD release of the album "Please Please Me."
The Beatles recorded 'Baby, It's You' on June 1, 1963 for broadcast on the BBC Radio "Pop Go The Beatles" episode which aired June 11. This recording was released in both the US and the UK on December 6, 1994 on "The Beatles Live At The BBC."
