On January 3, 1969, during rehearsals for the aborted "Get Back" film/album project, Paul McCartney performed a brief bit of this song, singing only one line. This performance has been bootlegged.

During the recording session on January 22, 1969 Paul played a very short version of 'Going Up The Country' which was caught on tape. Paul used this performance to demonstrate something he was saying about the group Canned Heat. No copies of this performance have surfaced.
